Story: When I was ill, my mother sent me countless cards in the mail, mostly sappy Hallmark cards. They were carefully decorated to show me that she spent time on them, to personalize them. They are more permanent than emails or text messages and don’t require a quick response. I could just absorb the care and love she put into it. I kept and saved each one. I have also returned to them from time-to-time.
