Story: My own faith is Catholicism, but I have tremendous respect for other religions. My own faith is strengthened when I observe the faith of others regardless of their religion. Many people with mental illness seek the counsel of faith leaders, before seeking out a health care provider, a testament to how important faith is. Religion was also important to me. When the medications and therapy weren’t working, nothing seemed to help except for my faith in God. I have corresponded with a nun for many years. She's been very kind and supportive and has helped me deepen my faith. I find it very comforting to receive her prayers and support.
